The objective of the program is to train HOCKEY PLAYERS who already have basic forward, backward, and stopping skills. THIS IS NOT A LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM. SKATERS SHOULD HAVE COMPLETED CANSKATE LEVEL FOUR. Skaters will be taught the fundamental skating skills necessary to complement their game playing skills. They will be taught the proper technique to develop maximum speed, balance, and agility. Each exercise will be learned correctly – which means slowly at first, and then increasing speed as proper technique is achieved. These exercises cover all of the skills necessary to make a complete skater and player by:
- FORWARD BALANCE
- BACKWARD BALANCE
- HOCKEY SIDE STOPS
- FAST FORWARD STARTS
- TIGHT GLIDE TURNS
- FORWARD CROSS-OVERS
- BACKWARD CROSS-OVERS
